Our Floor Wars event, known as the Cowtown Throwdown, is a head to head dance battle where dancers will compete to become the champion of the dance floor. We are currently accepting applications to compete in our event, dancers should apply by May 11th, 2025.
Cowtown Throwdown Rules
Eligibility: Participants must be at least 16 years old and legally allowed to perform in the event.
Entry Requirements: All contestants must complete the official registration process, including submission of any necessary documents, videos, and waivers by the designated deadline.
Content Guidelines: Performances must adhere to the event’s content standards, which prohibit inappropriate, offensive, or discriminatory material.
Right to Record: The organizers reserve the right to record and broadcast performances (audio, video, and photos) for promotional purposes without compensation to participants.
Non-Transferable Participation: Contestants may not transfer or assign their participation to another person. Only the registered contestant may perform.
Judging Criteria: Performances will be judged based on a point system and tally and the decision of the judges is final.
Behavioral Expectations: Participants must act professionally and respectfully at all times during the event, both on and off stage, as inappropriate conduct may lead to disqualification.
Disqualification and Cancellation: Organizers reserve the right to disqualify participants for failure to comply with the terms, rules, or for any other reason that disrupts the event or its fair operation.
Cowtown Throwdown Format
Rounds will be 1v1 and consist of two songs each. The MC will announce who starts. Each competitor will have roughly 30 seconds to dance per song. The MC will announce when to switch.
There are no costume requirements for this event. Please keep all attire PG-13 and ensure nothing can become a tripping hazard for other competitors.
No contact with other competitors.
Competitors must allow space for their opponents to dance. No interrupting.
No disrespect toward other competitors.
No props allowed.
Judging and Tiebreakers
There will be three judges for this event.
At the end of the round, judges will indicate their votes simultaneously. The competitor with two or more votes will move on. In the event of a tiebreaker, there will be one more single-song round, again with approximately 30 seconds allotted for each competitor. If there is an additional tiebreaker after this round, the MC will decide the winner.

Execution and Technique: Clean, defined moves, few repeated moves, character and style represented.
Originality: Matching your dance moves to the chosen music and being rhythmically accurate to the song.
Battle Knowledge: Is there a call and response within each competitor’s time? Are you playing off of your competitor?
Dynamics: Energy changes, levels, variation.
